Topic: Implementation and validation of turbulence models into a commercial SPH code


  • Literature research of turbulence modelling and validation approaches in CFD with a focus on SPH
  • Establishing the state of turbulent flow behavior in PreonLab
  • Selecting, implementing and validating turbulence models to implement in PreonLab
  • Thesis can be written in German or English


  • Enrolled student of Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or comparable studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
  • Fundamental understanding of Fluid Mechanics and Turbulence modelling
  • Working knowledge of C++ and python
  • Ambitious, focused and proactive
  • Motivation to bring your own ideas
